THERE ARE NO CARS. WHY? WHYYY???

Americans, even when given a perfectly walk-able environment, cannot imagine a world in which personal automobiles don't exist, and insist upon blotting the landscape with unnecessary concrete.

Roads are not only for cars. In many parts of the world, including where I am from, it's not very pleasant to walk anywhere unless there is a properly maintained road. No one wants to get mud all over their body just because they had to go out for five minutes. Originally roads were always meant for pedestrians, even in America.
