THERE ARE NO CARS. WHY? WHYYY???
Americans, even when given a perfectly walk-able environment, cannot imagine a world in which personal automobiles don't exist, and insist upon blotting the landscape with unnecessary concrete.
people just like copying the city designs they see every day in real life 🤷
Yeah it could be for purely aesthetic purposes, if its a medieval town it doesn't make sense but for modern cities it would look odd without the buildings spaced evenly apart
Roads are not only for cars. In many parts of the world, including where I am from, it's not very pleasant to walk anywhere unless there is a properly maintained road. No one wants to get mud all over their body just because they had to go out for five minutes. Originally roads were always meant for pedestrians, even in America.
BUILD RAIL LINES.
I fucking hate elytras because they made all other forms of transport obsolete, and now I'm usually the only one on servers to build long rail lines. I will never use those new fangled flying machines.
rail carts are soo slow it’s sad. wish they’d make faster versions
Back in beta you could do this neat physics glitch where two carts would be too close and clip out in a direction and go super fast. The powered rails are like a 5th of that speed.
did the romans dot their roads with white painted lines to indicate where you could turn? I think not.
I once built an historical accurate Roman road in minecraft.....I'm gonna go do it again
I frequently get this urges to build whole solarpunk-esque cities in minecraft but I lack the friends and will to go through with it
A city whose mode of transport is purely rails and canals? :CommiePOGGERS:
Get rid of cars, get rid of trains, all transport will be via log flume
While we are transporting crates of
militarycivilian jumpsuits, the citizens can hop on the log flume and get some time splashing in the sun
Canals are the only good thing about Nonce Island. You can buy a little house boat and sail the canal network docking wherever. As a pre-train logistical network, it's multi-functional and probably more efficient than wagons.
i built a highway to my base on the minecraft server, i’m feeling a little called out for making a stone path
as long as your stone path isn't black with stupid white lines dotting it then you're good
I like building big 'ol sidewalks with a railroad down the middle. :comfy:
