And there’s nothing inherently leftist about drugs.
Never said there was? Drug stuff pops up on main from time to time though and kids can't see that? I was thinking more from a harm reduction stand point.
I didn't make my point well; this site is inherently leftist and I think that the topics that we choose to focus communities around should relate to that somehow.
I'm not interested in preventing drug posts on this site, I just don't think having them as a focus is necessarily a good thing.
And just to be clear, I do not say this from some prudish anti-drug standpoint.

I get that, but we have some flippant comms like games and movies and we manage to keep those discussions on track with leftism though so I don't see how discussion around drugs would be any different. I think it could be a positive space to discuss anything related to drugs from law, to harm reduction, trip sitting, general info on all things related.
The site's name is changing because some people want to impress other people who are scared away by the mere mention of a podcast. I don't know why we wouldn't also consider the perceptions of those same people when deciding whether to associate the site with drugs and drug use, given that we're already making such large charges with them in mind.
I thought the site's name change was to move away from chapo because they're pretty lib? My point is that drug discussion comes up in main and if people want to get rid of main, where does that go? Like you said there's other sites but we're potentially driving people away to get scooped up by libs or reactionaries by not allowing discussion here.

I wonder if the drugs comm is going to attract or repel the kinds of people that were changing the site name for.
I don't see that having much bearing on the subject, the site's name is pretty irrelevant to the discussions here.

Good point about main going away, actually. Yeah that'll change things.
