FTL? I was so proud when I finally beat a run on Normal.
I discovered it was the only game I could easily run on my linux laptop so it became my obsession. I'm playing normal and I'm gonna unlock all the ships. I probably should have streamed or something.
I watch a guy on Twitch who is trying to beat all 26? ships on hard mode no pause.

Have you played either of the major overhauls yet?
Multiverse is sort of lower quality but more ambitious, can't remember the other one other than the fact that it fit so well into the tone of the game that I started having trouble telling classic events from the new ones.
Also if a ship surrenders to you and then explodes for whatever reason you should be able to scrap it.
