Got an idea from a website to substitute meat for apple slices when making sandwiches and it works like a dream. The sweetness actually goes very well with everything else.

No potential Crohn’s flare-ups, no afterlunch bloatedness and lethargy, no problems. Easy to make in a rush, too, though having time to heat it up via stove or panini press makes it all the better. Should also work with vegan cheese just fine, which I’ll try.

I am extremely skeptical about this but I’ve heard stranger things. What kind of apples? Do you like, grill them? Or just raw apple slices?

I tried both honeycrisp and fuji apples. Both grilled and raw apples work, and all I can say is that it depends on what kind of crunch you want. Not too sure how it will work for "weird" ones like greens but one can try.
