Sorry if there's a thread for this already or something, but I didn't check because I'm a dirtbag.

New vegan here (struggle sesh convert), need tips from all of my seitanic elders in this comm.

:vegan-seitan:

What do you wish you'd known when you first started? What's a cool life hack or perspective that you've figured out? What should I do with the cheese sitting in my fridge that I haven't thrown out yet?

Veganism is not a fucking diet, animal liberation matters.

Veganism is a way of thinking. While "not eating meat" is a part of it, veganism isn't just a lifestyle choice or a diet. Learn about the way animals are oppressed around you, such as cetaceans (whales, dolphins) in aquariums. Or the links between animal abuse and White supremacy (such as via the book in this post). You'll realize how intrinsically animal liberation is tied to anti-capitalism, racial justice etc. I'd say keeping that perspective in mind will prevent you from just becoming another liberal "vegan".

Really good point and thanks for emphasizing, comrade.
