She's also ignoring that your perception of time is different based on how long you live / have lived, so the time you'd be robbing that animal of is essentially worth more to the animal from an experiential perspective.
Also, somebody please tell the libs that dehumanization is the basis for all discrimination and proceeds every genocide of other humans, and whether something is human or not is not a good moral basis for anything. Maybe the impulse to say that something isn't human and is therefore okay to kill / consume is a morally dangerous and reprehensible one, as evidenced by stuff like the holocaust, and slavery.
