EDIT: The take in the OP is terrible and the hostility toward food allergies and dietary preferences is terrible. I don't support that at all. That said...

"Scooping" a bagel is wasteful and pompous bullshit. I know it happens, I see it happen, and I hate it.

If it became trendy to sell tiny apple spheres while throwing away the rest of the apple around it, I'd call that wasteful and pompous bullshit too.

Not interested in hypocritical sermons about how it's "moralistic, aesthetic hatemongering completely indistinguishable from reaction" reactions. Just try eating a damn bagel without throwing away most of the bagel, and if you refuse to do so and someone calls that practice wasteful, that's because it is wasteful. You'll survive the criticism, and it'd be even better if you learned from it.

        No investigation

Investigate what? You not liking how it feels to be criticized?

You should be one of the first in line supporting me here: this is just being a treat defender but for bullying people.

I don't like the take featured in the OP at all, but scooping is silly. I respect dietary restrictions. I respect individual preferences that don't amount to just wasting food for convenience. With all of that said, I can and do call people out that waste food when I dine with them.

My whole point is that “wasting food” is a completely normal thing people do all the time.

            Yes and it sucks.

I actively reduce my own food waste whenever I can. I am very aware that large industrialized processes eclipse the food waste that I am capable of. Telling people "you're being outclassed in waste, so feel free to roll coal and dump motor oil anywhere" is just asshole behavior, however small scale it is.

                Then you are living unhealthily.

                what-the-hell

It is less wasteful than using an electronics device to post on Hexbear.

Just say logout if you're that mad at my take. Being mad when I say "just try eating the whole bagel" to people I'm dining with that you will never meet is just absurdly inconsequential.

WHAT??? These are entirely different things!

No, they are not, not when your justification for waste is "there are larger scale industrial processes that outclass the damage you can do, therefore do whatever damage you please. Also, even criticizing 'no veggies at dinner, no naptimes' attitudes is unhealthy" takes.
