It does look really weird but why would they go through all the effort to fake this? If Biden could do this in front of a green screen, I don't see how he couldn't just walk outside to greet those reporters.

At first I thought it was fake, then after watching the side by side videos of the two angles a couple times I don't think so anymore. The first angle is at his left shoulder, and booms are typically held low down and much further out than cameras, so it's not crazy for him to lean forward and end up putting his hands between the tip of the booms (to his right) and the camera (to his left).

Also, if it was fake, why would his hands go "over" the booms at all? If the booms were cgi, they would be layered over the image of biden; there's no way that they would be under his hand at one point and over them at the next, unless someone was specifically photoshopping it that way.

It is a funny vid, but IDK it seems like it's probably just a weird angle.

Good point, there's also a longer video where he's walking away towards the helicopter. That's very hard to create convincingly with green screen and that seems way more complicated than just shooting this outdoors.

I agree its probably just a weird angle...especially just because if it was faked....why?

That said, as a VFX artist I will say that while your comments on layering are not inaccurate.....AI driven rotoscoping solutions are becoming more and more common and they can lead to some really weird quirks that you'd never see from a 100% human driven solution. https://youtu.be/fmJ74774RO8

Was this one AI rotoscoped and deepfaked? Nah....I don't think so. Probably a weird angle where truth is stranger then fiction. Still...I'm at the point I have a hard time writing people off as paranoid.

Is there a chance this is just a difference in compositing? Like one of the stations timed the audio differently? It'd be an easy mistake to make given that you don't have mouth movements to time it against.

His hand goes both over and behind the mics. If the mics were part of a green screen background then they would always be behind him, if the mics were layered on then they would always be in front of him. I’ve edited a lot of green screen stuff, this does not look like that to me.
