Shaming doesn't work. They say to a bunch of people who were shamed into changing their entire lifestyle.
"Bullying doesn't work" the community that's all about bullying chuds says
"Be kinder and maybe people will change" says the person actively and angrily debating reasons not to change
You know what Amber said. Libs are the kind of people that you can bully into doing the right thing. I guess most of us here are like that.
Maybe different approaches works well on different people? Diversity of tactics, you know?
Same, I was a vegetarian for four years and I found a tumblr blogger who was an angry militant vegan, and they were just right every time.
I'll never be vegan, burgers are just Too Damn Good! LOL!
this was my journey personally so it seems quite effective. call out that cognitive dissonance, really make it hurt
Most people don't have a desire to change something this entrenched by capitalism without a strong motivator.
I try to start off kind when talking about anything leftist with somebody who doesn't get it, but when people start raging at me I'm not gonna cater to them.
Yeah, imagine thinking that you showing you don't mind if someone kills animals 6/7 days is somehow going to make them think you care strongly for animals.
Ackshually, saying murder is bad is doing a racism and you should feel bad.
I have to say this website has been really eye opening for me but in specific regard to like how other people have interacted with and experienced certain political movements. I'm realizing just how exceptionally right wing my associates and relatives are. I've never once in my life been shamed for not being vegan enough, rather the complete opposite. I've only ever been called a piece of shit for not eating enough animals. Same thing with a lot of things I see here. If I met a person who got mad at me for not being vegan enough, or not leftist enough, or whatever, I think I'd fall to their feet and weep in happiness. But I realize that's not everyone's experience, so it's weird for me to consider.
Same honestly. Dominion was a real turning point for me.
That level of understanding where our food comes from should be core curriculum in schools.
Yep, same for me, Dominion was a big turning point. I also needed The Game Changers, because I was excessively worried that a vegan diet would potentially lead to health problems.
Yeah, I don't supplement protein or anything, and don't consider my diet to actually strive to include any distinct protein sources like some people focused around structuring for macro nutrients do and I've been fine.
Flour, rice, just vegetables in general all contain enough protein for me.
The Game Changers is entertaining but I think there might be problems with it so it isn't the first thing I suggest to people. I've seen a lot of youtube videos taking issue with the methodology of segments in it.
