If somebody had tried to intervene in it, they likely would have been shot and killed, in addition to Floyd still being killed.

The broader media narrative would have been that the police had apprehended a man who was on drugs and/or had been involved in a home robbery when his friends tried to stop them.

The police would have been hailed as heroes and what is basically the right-wing narrative would have become the dominant one instead.

the person who filmed floyd's death is actually a teenage girl (i believe she's black) who got a lot of hate from everyone for not intervening, it was very sad, especially since (obviously) seeing floyd be murdered really traumatized her

also ramsey orta who filmed eric garner's murder was arrested and was imprisoned where he was repeatedly beaten and poisoned and forcibly given covid by one of the COs.

    Thankfully he's out now.

hearing shit like this really makes all that propaganda about "evil commies/iraqis/chinese/russians" ring hollow :amerikkka:

Yeah you could tell watching that awful video - if Floyd had been saved, then nothing happened!! So it's just some people assaulting police for "no reason". If he had died, they would have blamed the people trying to save him for like, distracting them so much they killed him on accident. There's no way out other than purging these fucking people, taking away former cops' gun rights to prevent a fucking friekorps, and completely reinventing public safety

There was a very similar police brutality case against a Rom man in Europe a few years ago (I think it may have been Germany specifically, but there's a few similar cases). This one specifically was almost 1:1 with the method of brutal restraint. The victim's friend or family member, I don't recall, tried to intervene and got beat for it. He didn't die, but the one who was kneeled on did. So the "likely" is 99.9% true.

Hell they still tried to turn the narrative into him deserving to die for the petty crime he did.

Or that he died of an unrelated drug overdose that just happened to occur while a pig was kneeling on his neck

Exactly, how insane is that as a story. It's alright he was choked to death because his prior condition made it more likely he would die from being choked to death.

unless you own property you must accept that the state can pretty much kill you whenever they want and nothing will happen

Exactly. Any resistance would have made it justified in the eyes of the public, even if the resistance was to being killed for selling cigarettes.

Kind of gives credence to MLK's strategy to essentially let demonstrators be victims of police brutality, knowing that white moderates would use any excuse to demonize protestors unless they were grandmothers in church clothes
