“Reddit has the opportunity to elevate the discussion around political ads”
Lmfao, when has reddit ever elevated the discussion around ANYTHING
That time they owned Xi and Epic Games Store by posting whinnie the pooh memes on Chinese new year
They fought back and defeated Blizzard by boycotting Hearthstone, which resulted in their stock plummeting to all time highs
I don't know what you're talking about. Buying emoticon gold for David Frum op-eds and and scrolling past Trump ads to post "ORANGE MAN BAD" on reddit dot com is the highest form of civic engagement.
semi-related: since I've deleted my r*ddit account, I've seen the current default front page, and I now see explicitly reactionary subs like r/conservative and r/libertarian showing up there sometimes, whereas when I joined just a couple years earlier, it was pretty much only generic apolitical subs like r/videos and r/pics.
I got on the default front page recently and about a tenth of it was from r/cringetopia
If you're out of the loop it tends to be a very anti-LGBT place
As if it wasn't a fact already but: chapo.chat > reddit.com
