Part of the humor imo is laughing at myself for still having such a juvenile sense of humor. The very fact that I think this horrible, idiotic shit is even slightly funny doubles down and makes it even funnier.

That said, it's extremely hit or miss, and I don't have the patience I used to for sifting shit to find the gold. I'd also be perfectly happy if it just stopped existing, because Ironic Bigotry is still gross, and that + Poe's Law is a dangerous fuck

Incredibly controversial take but i think its a good way get people with "sjw owned comp #85" style internet brain rot over to the left in some capacity by showing them that you can like edgy humor and still be in favor or pro left policy and such. Better then nothing

I mean that's kind of what cth and the entire "dirtbag left" movement was about in the first place. Leftists who are more or less normal people with all the flaws that come with that. people who aren't afraid to engage the chuds on their level.

there is, of course, a question of whether that actually ever had any value. i think this site is kind of an experiment in pushing that crowd to self-reflect, grow, and stop being quite so edgy and juvenile. im not sure its working. but we shall see

It kind of seems like the results of that experiment are most of the “edgy” type leftists not sticking around, and the site turning into the sort of insular “carelord” haven that the original dirtbag people were rebelling against.

To be clear, there is certainly a place for that type of community, especially as leftist politics are pushed off of Reddit and Facebook. It’s just not at all like the community it sprang from. Interestingly, a sort of inverse phenomenon happened to the cumtown subreddit when it was kicked off Reddit, it immediately became a pol-tier garbage fire.

Never listened to it. I've heard one clip, and it started with one of the hosts singing "Bill Maher the n***er guy" to the Bill Nye theme, and I don't think I want to hear any more clips. Their subreddit was very reactionary and their spin-off forum is even worse.

Nick is genuinely a toxic psychopath and I never want to meet him in real life but he is skilled at improv and impressions. I think Stav is really cool, funny and genuine. Really endearing laugh. Adam's a non-entity.

People rightly mention satire being about 'clarity of intent'. Occasionally there'll be more overt skits with a underlying message/gag, but mostly it's Nick doing really base-level edgy humour and Stav laughing at how rude it is, but also laughing at how fucking moronic and one-note it is.

I think I listen to one skit a night and their hit-rate is pretty high honestly.

But yeah there are some really shitty race/LGBT gags.

ah man, sorry for the instantaneous reaction! haha yeah I could def tell he has a bit going on mental health wise, I just think the way he deals with a lot of stuff is a super doomer/nihilist and I don't think that's a healthy way of dealing with things.

The only times he really actually laughs on the pod is whenever they're making fun of Stav's weight and I think that's more telling of his actual personality than any of the shit that comes out during his improv.

I think there needs to be places for "edgy" humor where the main ppl don't have a reactionary politics behind it. Cause whether or not you like it, that's honestly a big hurdle for lots of apolitical people, at least ones I've met. They like stupid jokes where ppl don't think before hand whether it's ok to say or not.

I always laugh at the idea each individual Cumtown member makes more than the average american family a month for just saying "What if Joe Biden was mid-way eating pussy and forget where he was?" twice a week

Listen jack. Sometimes you close your eyes and pretend you’re eating an ice cream cone in the fish market jack.

        Cum on, man.
