Same in my state, it's just a free for all, first come first served, not a shit given about the elderly, immune compromised or front line workers :agony-yehaw:
This is pretty fucking shitty. I mean if they are frontline workers, I get it and understand why, but if they just want to go party, they should fucking get the wall. I had an opportunity to volunteer to check people in for like 4 hours for their vaccines and then I could get it and I turned it down because there are disadvantaged communities being left the fuck behind and god damn this shit makes me so mad
Like, if the shots would otherwise go to waste then whatever. Cool. But that’s not the impression I’m getting from the op
I’m really anxious for the coming scramble here in Europe. Currently there are talks about a “vaccine-passport”, I can already smell the upcoming free-for-all when public places start demanding people show their passport for admittance.
We’ve already had lots of cases where people in positions of power have prioritized their family members before those who actually need the vaccine. This will get so extremely much worse in the coming months I can’t even describe it
Definitely shitty. It's harming people who are actually in danger of dying if they get the virus. I guess it could be justified if they were in a situation where they technically do not fit the requirements for getting the vaccine early but also have a pressing need for it, but I doubt most people skipping the line are doing it for a good reason. My hunch also says people skipping the line are the kind to throw away all caution once they are safe, and start spreading it, if that's still possible with the vaccine.
There's no such thing as skipping in line. The point is to get everyone vaccinated. And vaccines are still being wasted so it's not like you're stealing them from someone else.
