I keep holding out hope that one day I'll be able to find a group to play shadowrun with. Until then Shadowrun Returns, Dragonfall, and Hong Kong will have to do stalin-bummed

We had a tiny proto-hexbear one, but GM ran out of time/energy

I'll put it on the list after I get a hang of Russian, I'm struggling to escape monolingualism as an adult and it's hard

The youtuber burgerkrieg is a german guy who does some pretty cool videos on Shadowrun and World of Darkness lore if that would help tide you over. He's a comrade too

I'm always down to hear about another leftist content creator, and especially one that's a fan of such a niche ttrpg! Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to check it out after class!

Oh I thought this was about my 3080 having a bad time with Cities Skylines 2.

Yes, although the developers have apparently matured/reflected since then and the in-development 2e addresses/fixes a lot of that problematic or excessively edgy content.

My favorite part of OSR is that it (usually) makes finding traps in a dungeon fun again. "I hit the tiles with a 10 ft pole, I summon a rat and send it into the hallway, I jam a piton into the doorway", etc vs just "i roll search, i roll disable device".

They aren't really. I mostly adlib from a basic skeleton scenario, and they aren't crazy murderhobos, so they tend towards peaceful resolution to a lot of problems and most of them don't really care about combat, preferring interesting exploration.

But that's one of the in-setting advantages to the generic-ish fantasy landscape (in this case, a rough mishmash of GURPS fantasy settings and Invisible Cities), the ability of organisations to monitor territory is sharply limited, and the primary enemy comes from dungeon locations that have no force projection or allies.

Oh, wait, actually the Swashbuckler is having a tough time - they're an agile unarmoured type, and every time they do their thing and charge at the biggest monster to effortlessly stab it in the eyes they get a really unlucky Dodge roll and are one-shot into the ground.

Skill issue, should've taken Luck. (I once had a PC Luck a defense roll and crit fail all 3 times)

Yeah, she has Luck - but gets unlucky almost every roll. She's a good sport about it though, and I pointed her towards Ultimate Slayer Eye Stabbing Whatever, so theoretically when the dice align things will go hilariously well.

Actually she might have a Dancing Shield we've all forgotten about... random loot generation can be quite generous.

One of the best parts of paranoia is how character creation subverts any attempt at a "build" (You go in a circle for 5 rounds, and whatever stat you take as a positive the player next to you takes as an equivalent negative)
