Our government has recently suggested to remove history as a obligatory subject, and replace it with "Future-studies"

No this is not a joke.

Edit: to quote the new minister of education "(Geography, religion, history, nature-studies and social-studies) Are examples of lesser studies that are useful on an individual level, but we would rather prioritize studies that are more important to carry with themselves. In what we call a more suited future oriented study, we are bringing forward the aspect of democracy that we all will have use of. "

    Complete drivel :stalin-bummed:

This is what happens when you keep rotating out ministers of education who also introduced stuff like the 10% absence limit and removed school fruit. :yes-honey-left:

It's empty platitudes from our weird conservative government, that's what it really means.

Stemlord education ministers is a change of pace from the "We need to teach the children to be proud of their history" kind that seems to be popping up everywhere.

At the same time, they changed our religion studies to "Christian religious studies" not so long ago, so they are kinda taking pieces of from both Stemlordism and the conserving our culture stuff.

Work went hella fast today, we love to see it, we love when the best we can hope for is that our alienated time passes so quickly we hardly remember it, leaving blank voids between stress filled "leisure" hours half-spent worrying about or preparing for the next day of the cycle :agony-deep:

    I need a vacation

Well, I helped with a trans thingy today, idk how much I actually helped though. But I'm pretty sure i atleast in someway helped two other trans people at it. I also got a skirt from it! I'm really exhausted now though, volunteering is hard.

US Americans (lib, conservative, and apolitical alike) will talk about how the genocide of native americans was "regrettable", maybe even "kinda bad". But they won't go as far as to call the genocide and theft of the land "evil" or call the US or the settlers evil, because they will make all sorts of excuses about how it wasn't considered all that bad at the time and lots of other countries were doing colonialism then, etc etc. Or do what Blinken did in Alaska and talk about how that's all in the past now so it's irrelevant because reasons.

These are all very convenient positions to take now that the frontier is closed, the native populations have been fully subdued and their numbers decimated, and white Americans basically have everything they wanted. I am 100% certain that if this wasn't the case today - if there was still desirable land to grab from native inhabitants in 2021 - white Americans would find a way to rationalize away the continued theft and genocide.

My coworkers are talking about the suez canal blockage as if it’s still an ongoing situation :sicko-wistful: they’re also indirectly advocating for the belt and road initiative :xi-pog:
