Does talking about the Cuomo nursing home scandal annoy anyone else? It's gotten to the point where if anyone brings it up with me, my immediate thought is that the person is a chud. Like, fuck Cuomo, but the only people who ever bring it up with me are people who also just want to open back up. So, you're not okay with these people in nursing homes dieing, but you're also okay with condemning even more than the almost 50,000 people in New York who have already died because of our shitty response, to death? Maybe I'm being a lib but it's getting really hard for me to separate the scandal from the constant chud talking point.
The timing is just weird to me, too. Like, I was yelling (and a lot of leftists in NYC) about Cuomo's nursing home order in March of 2020. Like, we all knew it was bad then, and said as much. It's very strange that it's only gaining traction now, and amongst distinctly not left people as you've pointed out.
Its as transparent as the cannabis legalization... a smokescreen
Yeah lol, the timing of that one is ridiculous. "Oh I harassed a bunch of women? Ok let's make weed legal!" Scum.
Yeah very true the timing is also weird. As you say, this is start of the pandemic shit. Not that that makes it any less fucked up, but now it's being picked up to seemingly support policies that are the opposite of what a common sense reaction to the scandal would be.
And then when the conversation turns to sexual assault, of course these same people turn around and say it's actually bullshit the left wants to kick out Cuomo because of the sexual assault allegations.
Dude should die in prison, but nothing is gonna happen.
