So here they are my beans. Made some cornbread to accompany them.

So the recipe is pretty good. Soak your beans, drain and rinse. Saute onions, peppers, mushrooms and carrots in a lot of veggie oil. I added a bag of greens which included kale, red and regular cabbage, and chopped broccoli. Once they reduce I added tomato sauce and bbq sauce, bbq can be vegan btw just avoid smokey flavor. Chili powder, garlic salt, paprika, onion powder, cumin, and pepper. Add in the beans then mix and coat. Now add water to cover and more. Bring to a boil for a bit like 30 mins. Pop into a preheated oven at 250f for 8 hours. This recipe I use a dutch oven btw.

For the cornbread I sauteed onion, carrots, mushrooms, and peppers. I made a mix of cornbread with it. The cornbread I had just needed water but wanted to add something extra. Also dumped in chili powder for taste.

Coffee just instant coffee with a bit of salt.

Hope everyone likes these, my photo skills not great but I still tried.

Growing up cornbread was hit or miss for me. This cornbread perfect aspect of not being too dry that I love.

    BEANS.

Also, why do you avoid bbq with smoky flavor? Just preference, or is there something nefarious about it that I'm not aware of? Fwiw, I hate bbq, as I think its too sweet, but I usually add liquid smoke when I make bean or chili.

Mostly say it for anyone vegan. From what I read smokey flavor bbq usually has animal products. I get the original flavor but so I can add what ever I want to it.

Oh damn, just saw that apparently a lot of brands have fish sauce in them for the smokiness. I'm vegan as well, but more importantly here deathly allergic to all seafood, so I guess its good I've never liked it, probably saved me a hospital trip at some point.

I saw a episode once of good eats where he makes liquid smoke using wood chips, water and a thing he makes. Wanna try this one day.

Also damn glad you're okay and avoided an emergency.

Good luck, you can add something to it for added kick. Recommend chili powder but sauteed veggies work too.

Might just be my bad luck but I've burned enough food to associate smokey with burnt. Probably shouldn't eat burnt food but can't let it go to waste. I know they probably aren't the same but still can't shake them.

Thank you. The beans look redder than they are but am happy with photo. Cornbread intact but other one in pieces. Still tasty.

Just nestle instant coffee, the salt is to take away the bitter flavor kind of. I put it force of habit because I just chug it anyway to avoid the taste.
