She attempted to bring up how the officers turning on Derek Chauvin shows that theres some good officers and I was having none of it. She's an extremely lib journalist and It was like talking with a wall. My boomer dad also backed her up. When I brought up how often police are abusers and such she said that the presidency is also corrupt and so is congress. Should they be torn down? I said yes and she said well that doesn't lead to a stable world when china and russia wanna swoop in and put gulags here. I was at this point so annoyed I just told her to look up imperialism, how capitalism exploits the global south, and how the united states has not enabled stability for any country that's not an ally of the united states' ruling class. Anyone have any tips on how I could have maybe radicalized her? I'm grasping at straws at this point and my family will probably make me out to be the villain.

For every Derek Chauvin who chokes a man, there's a dozen Tou Thaos who will keep the crowds back so they can only watch the man die. Everycop who's not an abuser is a conformist.

Maybe next time they bring this up, ask them how close they are to doing that.

Ask them where the closest Chinese military base to American soil is, and how many miles away from the border it is.

You don't change people's minds by trotting out arguments. But when you get the gears in their heads to start turning and slipping and jamming, you can really erode their beliefs. That's why it's such a well-known interviewer tactic of just getting them to keep talking- if there's a contradiction that they carry in their argument, sooner or later they'll run right into it, and they'll be the critic rather than you.
