On Friday, Politico reported that New York Democratic Congresswoman and Democratic Socialists of America member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez transferred $160,000 in campaign funds to a slate that includes “CIA Democrats”—right-wing congressional Democrats with intelligence and military backgrounds. Politico reported that the contributions were unsolicited and were aimed “to help keep the House majority ahead of a tough cycle.” While Politico only lists Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania, Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Carolyn Bourdeaux of Georgia by name, it appears based on the report that Ocasio-Cortez donated $5,000 to each of 32 “frontline” candidates selected by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in high-profile midterm races.
It looks like she donated to every Democratic candidate with a contested midterm, and "CIA Democrats" includes not just people with actual intelligence connections, but any candidate who was ever in the military.
If any of these candidates have a primary challenger from the left, obviously they shouldn't be supported. But otherwise this is a non-issue at worst.

If there's a toll to Pelosi it's DCCC dues, which she doesn't pay. Choosing where her money goes is clearly better than just cutting Democrats a blank check, even if there's room to criticize her current appraoch.
This is $5K each to reps who will face strong Republican challengers in 2022. Maybe some of those reps aren't worth supporting at all, but the DCCC could have easily taken her money and cut a $160K check to someone in a safe blue district who's facing a primary challenger from the left.
It's literally no different, she's still saving them that amount of money they can use to fund centrist primary challenges and that's 160k less she can use to fund other Rosa killers like her.

Slotkin has already insulted her again and said she's returning the money, as have two other conservative dems on that list. AOC and a bunch of other progressives don't even pay DCCC dues and actively speak out against it.

You can see the logic behind it: it's not a blank check to the DCCC, but it's not total opposition to the party, either. She's split this among a bunch of races that might go red in 2022. If she just cut a $160K check to the DCCC they could just as easily throw all that money at some candidate in a safe blue seat who's facing a primary challenger from the left.
Nah, it makes perfect sense. AOC wants to protect the Democratic majority but doesn't want to harm left primary challengers. Because the DCCC funds centrist Dems against both progressives and Republicans, giving money to the DCCC would hurt the left. But giving money to centrist Dems in red seats who aren't facing left primary challengers protects the majority without harming the left. It's good politics.

We can stop taking WSWS seriously after their last AOC article or the rape apologia or the class reductionism or literally anything else they do. Stop falling for every little bit of outrage news that confirms your priors.
This is good politics and AOC should continue doing this. If the left wants to wield power they have to be in the majority. The money she's sending to frontline dems protects them from the GOP, not the left. AOC does not fund centrist Dems against leftist ones. She does not pay dues to the DCCC, an organization that actually does fund centrists against progressives. And if AOC started funding the DCCC, we can and should criticize her. The fact of the matter is that AOC and the left can only wield power in the majority, and thus it is in the left's interests to protect that majority.
I can't believe there's still people like this on here lol what the fuck good is helping Dems when they're just going to side with the GOP? The left will never have a majority there, their only use as far as any socialists are concerned is to detonate the vest on must pass bills, otherwise they're just giving cover to capitalism.
