  • Capitalists tend to develop a vicious hatred of workers precisely because they are ultimately dependent on them, much in the way a vampire might hate humans because they resent having to feed on “lesser beings” to survive. Consequently, capitalists are constantly trying to find ways to mask or break this dependency. The phenomenon of masking it is well understood — reconceptualizing exploitation as “job creation,” etc. . . . In this context, I see the rise of cryptocurrencies as fueled by a semi-conscious and futile attempt on the part of capitalists to escape this dilemma. I say semi-conscious because crypto-capitalists do actually have practical goals, such as tax evasion, and futile because workers are still very much involved via chip manufacture and power plant operations. However, the crypto marketing pitch usually takes the form of the promise of capital unsullied by human intervention, free from human “interference,” both in its generation and in its regulation. I suspect this is part of why it resonates so much with a certain people: capitalists who despise workers and self-hating workers that desperately want to become capitalists. More philosophically, it is a dream of capital unchained, of wealth based purely on math, elegant and abstract, cutting pesky humanity out of the equation.

  • I wish the game had a bunch of Ground Zeroes-sized areas. Like 4-6 of them with multiple objectives you'd complete over 4-05 separate sorties. Each time you go back the defenses get upgraded and the guards get smarter. The original does this but it takes so long and over only two locations it doesn't have the same impact.

Man, all those bllellow Twitter handles flock to these posts to smug-post against people who have real, valuable concerns about the political system in the US. Zero empathy. They're just there to try to dunk on people with some of the dumbest dunk attempts possible.

That's a good point. I think them getting rebuked by India, Saudi Arabia, China, etc. should be some amount of proof to them that they're losing their grip. They gave direct orders to these countries and they mostly countered or ignored them.

It literally is their last chance. Once people start de-dollarizing and forming trade blocks not centered around North American or EU because of this they're fucked. They've had like 12 years of rhetoric saying they'd bring the jobs back and they didn't at all. They had COVID which was the perfect excuse to start nationalizing key parts of the economy and they didn't do it.

  • The US has been doing experiments on soldiers, POWs, black populations, the poor, the mentally unstable/addicts, homeless, etc. for at least a century now across multiple levels of government and programs. Also just spraying diseases into the air over cities in California, Alberta, etc. via planes for biowarfare tests. Were also then super-curious on the "data" collected by Nazis and Unit 731 from their torture-experiments that they let them into the country en masse or pardon them. I don't get why users here are so skeptical of the US doing this. They get to farm it out to some poor Eastern European country, that still developed enough to have these labs, that doesn't speak the same language as us and is a couple of degrees removed from the US government and they get to continue torturing people like they've done before. The US completely stopping this behaviour for no reason would be the weird thing.
