  • Coming out of left field with this one. But if you're at all interested in cooking or baking I highly recommend The Great British Bake Off.

It's a reality TV show, but it's produced in the UK so it avoids all of the obnoxious over-editing and manufactured drama of US reality TV. A group of amateur bakers are taken to the countryside and bake three different things each week, and every week has a different theme (Chocolate, Bread, Patisserie, etc), one person gets sent home each week until the final three compete in a finale.

It's really wholesome and you get the sense that all the competitors aren't dicks and are actually supportive of one another. There's never any drama and you get to see some really cool/artistic things being baked/cooked. Definitely worth checking out if you're at all interested in cooking or baking or just want something wholesome to throw on.

  • And would also have the additional effect of letting employees have more freedom and choice over where they work since their health insurance isn't intrinsically tied into their employer; and as an added benefit would give them better leverage in the work place since they aren't at risk of losing their insurance by being let go/fired when disputing things at work.

Also it would help small businesses flourish more since they wouldn't deter potential employees due to a lack of being able to provide health insurance. And would even help businesses that do provide health insurance to their employees by lowering their overhead cost of operation by not needing to pay into health insurance. But yeah, single payer healthcare is fucking stupid and a pie in the sky wish and would totally cost too much money.

  • Right? The easiest slam dunk was right there in front of them, and they had to have known that it would have been an open and shut case against him using emoluments as a reason. I'm fucking baffled why they didn't go with that reasoning to impeach if they were so fucking ready to impeach him over something as stupid as looking into Hunter Biden's corruption.

Of course they actually love that Trump is in office (or at least are fine with it) because they get fat donation money and the MSM rakes in the fucking cash from increased viewership. But like, you didn't need to try and impeach him over some dumb shit for you to keep reaping the donation and ad money, lol. You could have just done nothing and kept feigning resistance a la Pelosi clapping/tearing up a speech. They just embarrassed themselves for absolutely no gain. It's ridiculous.

  • Any of the Monty Python movies are pretty good since they're already pretty silly. Holy Grail is a favorite. On a similar note some Terry Gilliam movies are also good stoned since they're pretty visually interesting.

Brazil is a good one, along with Time Bandits, Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

    Jesus, lol. That is crazy.

I'm just more and more convinced that you just have to have the most cynical nihilistic take on everything and you'll be right more often than not. It just sucks because everyone ends up hating you for being a cynical asshole if you voice your true opinion on matters.

Literally the reason I got a ps4 (years down the line after it got a bit cheaper, fuck buying a new console full price just to play one game). Just finished another play through using a bloodtinge build for the first time, what a good game.

It definitely looks pretty, but from what I understand it's pretty much a 1:1 recreation of Demon's Souls, janky mechanics and all, just with a gorgeous coat of paint all over it.

Which means it's the least refined souls game out of them all. I can understand why people would be hyped to play it considering not many people got to play the OG game on the ps3, but it's hardly a console seller. And this is coming from someone with literally hundreds of hours in each souls game.

Now if it were a Bloodborne 2, fuck, that'd be a console seller lol.

For sure! Shoot me some links. I used to be kind of into some Post Rock for a while there. Loved explosions in the sky, mogwai, and Mars volta.

May take me a bit to listen to them though. Got off my computer for the night to make some dinner and hang with my girlfriend.

Yeah. Sorry if everything was a bit too heavy for your tastes, it took me a bit to get into the heavier stuff myself. I think you'll dig the ichthyologist though, it's the least heavy out of all of those besides Sabbath.

Death Penalty by Witchfinder General is a similar sound to Sabbath, the song Free Country off that album is really good.

Edit Just remembered Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats existed. Very very similar to Sabbath and really good. I like their album Blood lust. All clean vocals there too.

Nightfall by Candlemass is good and has clean vocals and some cool Doom riffs. Also the music video for Bewitched is chef's kiss so cheesy.

Arctic Thunder and The Underground Resistance are Darkthrone is pretty riffy and fun. (there are harsh vocals though, but The Underground Resistance has a fair bit of pretty silly but good cleans on it too.

October Rust by Type O Negative is super super good and all clean vocals. It's more of a Gothic Rock/Metal thing than anything related to death. Tons of beautiful layered production on that one

All of this is off the top of my head mostly, so sorry if it isn't formatted in a very coherent matter lol.

Since you're into rock music in general you've probably already listened to Black Sabbath. But like, if you haven't listened to Paranoid or Master of Reality you're missing out. So many classic riffs on those albums. War Pigs, Planet Caravan, Fairies Wear Boots, Sweet Leaf, Into The Void are highlights for me off of those two.

Might be a bit on the heavier side and mostly growled vocals (although Chuck's vocals are very intelligible and clear for harsh vocals), but Death's music is filled with awesome riffs and some surprisingly thoughtful lyrics throughout and is one of my favorite bands in general, let alone metal. I'd start with Symbolic. It's pretty proggy, but it doesn't go off the rails, and I regularly listen to it front to back. I was writing out the highlights but realized that I was literally listing every song on the album, lol. Zero Tolerance is fucking amazing though. And if you end up liking this album and want something just as good with a more straightforward death metal approach Spiritual Healing is another one of my favorites by them.

Horrendous is some proggy death metal with not so overwhelming vocals and really really good songwriting that flows super well. A solid amount of slower cleanish guitar sections from what I remember as well. Ecdysis is my favorite by them and I listened to that shit on repeat for months without getting bored of it. Anareta is another super super solid album by them, just as good as Ecdysis IMO.

The Ichthyologist by Giant Squid is awesome. It's a nautical themed concept album and switches from some interesting clean vocals and clean instrumentation to sludgy riffs throughout. They have some interesting instrumentation too, I really dig them. Dead Man's Slough is a favorite.

I never got super into Baroness, but they might be up your alley, I remember liking the blue album and the green album by them a good bit when I was trying to get into them a few years ago.

Hope this gives you some good tunes to listen to. Feel free to ask for more if you end up really digging one of these artists and I'll try to think of more stuff like them.
