How fucking incompetent do you have to be to have done this. Holy shit.

    • If you made it about the countless emoluments clause violations, you have a slam-dunk reason to impeach.
    • You'd spend all the time we spent on impeachment digging into how wealthy Trump is, and how much he's robbing the government blind, with the subtext being "this man is nothing like you, and here's an easily-understandable story of corruption."
    • You'd force Republicans to defend obvious, massive self-dealing, which is harder to counter than some muddled story about improper investigations or whatever.

    What a goddamn embarrassment.

Right? The easiest slam dunk was right there in front of them, and they had to have known that it would have been an open and shut case against him using emoluments as a reason. I'm fucking baffled why they didn't go with that reasoning to impeach if they were so fucking ready to impeach him over something as stupid as looking into Hunter Biden's corruption.

Of course they actually love that Trump is in office (or at least are fine with it) because they get fat donation money and the MSM rakes in the fucking cash from increased viewership. But like, you didn't need to try and impeach him over some dumb shit for you to keep reaping the donation and ad money, lol. You could have just done nothing and kept feigning resistance a la Pelosi clapping/tearing up a speech. They just embarrassed themselves for absolutely no gain. It's ridiculous.

My running theory has been that the Democrats are basically loving Trump's entire existence. They love using the appearance of their #RESISTANCE shit because it gets them boatloads of money and attention from their base. They don't need to resist for real and in fact, if they do, they throw away this money printer because now they have to work. So they didn't want to impeach for something winnable like the emoluments problems, they needed a dragged out impeachment that they could tout as a #RESISTANCE moment and not actually ever win.

Which is why they haven't been taking the brewing attempted coup by Trump seriously whatsoever. One of two things will happen: Trump folds, Democrats take power, and then continue their grift but against McConnell instead while he and Pelosi laugh over champagne every night, or Trump will actually try to take back power in a coup, the Democrats will fold out of "keeping national unity and stability in these trying times", and rev up the #RESISTANCE machine harder.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi had to be bullied into even doing that?

You’re not giving her enough credit. She wasn’t bullied into it. She decided when Trump went after Hunter Biden that it was a bridge too far because bringing failchildren into the mix would harm both parties

It was both. She didn't want to do anything (because she's an awful speaker who is killing democracy via incompetence) and took it as an easy out because the dems were feeling such voter pressure.

Yeah, there was a lot of energy for impeachment after the 2018 midterms but she squashed that. Then when Trump went after Hunter she could be like "aha, he's really crossed a line this time" and engage her attack mode where she turns into the valiant fighter who's fighting super duper hard but just can't do anything because those damn Republican senators!

When I saw Igor Stravinsky get busted with the Odessa documents that Giuliani wanted to give to Mikhail Vladivostok, I knew Drumpfh was fired.

Ok for real though, is there another Igor Stravinsky running around these days, or is this an inside joke about the composer lmao

Do you even follow Russiagate? If he should have been impeached for anything it was the Odessa affair with Parnas and Stravinsky.

Igor Stravinsky would never associate with someone like Lev Parnas! But he also wasn’t a comrade.

Democrats at peak liberalism: They didn't fight Trump politically. They didn't attack his ideology. They didn't address the problems Americans are facing. They didn't do anything to improve the material conditions of the people.

Instead they spent all their time and energy on the impeachment, an impotent piece of political theatre completely divorced from the everyday lives of Americans that foreseeably ended in nothing changing at all.
