So far I've enjoyed stuff like The Boys, The Thick Of It, What We Do In The Shadows, but I'm open to try anything really. Except The Office.
I'd argue that Hank is shown a lot to be a victim of toxic masculinity a lot though. He puts on a lot of show for the other members in his precinct.
Character-wise he's basically just cop-Walt on some level.
It's a great show but this right here (among many other reasons) is why I always place The Wire above it. The Wire wasn't afraid to say the institutional structure of the police contributes to the problems on the streets.
BrBa has a pretty standard lib opinion of law enforcement, IMO. Like maybe they have some personality flaws but they are still the "good guys". Also, it didn't seem to ever really criticize the War on Drugs. That's what I got from the show at least
First season of True Detectives. Kinda leftist in the TrueAnon sense and the best piece of television I have watched until now.
Season one of True Detective is somehow the best lovecraftian show and the most Epstein-pilled show ever made

Better, IMO. It peaks at Season 4, but Season 5 is still good TV. Some people don't like Season 2 as much as others, but I've always liked it and how it looks at the white working class and unions' role in modern cities.
But they are all similar to Season 1. The show to me is very novelistic and I think it took me until episode 10 or so to be sucked into Season 1 and the show completely.

Most shows don't get anywhere near 11-12 seasons of gold, hell even the fucking Simpsons didn't manage that. I'd say Sunny has had a pretty amazing run, and is probably the best sitcom of all time.
I think season 10 is legit one of the best seasons. So many consistently good episodes in that one. I agree otherwise, though.
I definitely agree. I feel like even as a shell of it's former self it's still better than most TV shows out there, though. Like you said, the new seasons definitely have their moments, but it's not as amazing as it used to be.

"Halt and Catch Fire" is a really good character drama. here is a corny trailer that does not do it justice I believe it is still on Netflix. Not leftist, but does a good job portraying the cutthroat and unethical behavior which is prevalent under captialism.
"The IT crowd" is pretty funny, also on netflix. Kind of veering into The Office territory though.
As libbed up as it is, I really like "Curb your Enthusiasm"... usually solid comedy.
All of the Star Trek series. (DS9/TNG are good entry points... TNG would be ideal, but it takes a couple seasons to really settle in). I believe they're all on Netflix, except the 3 most recent series (currently running shows)

Unironically NGE helped me massively with my depression. I get the feeling people who watched it and come out feeling worse didn't pay much attention to the themes of the original ending and were too focused on the plot. And that's fair enough, because caring about the plot of Eva is the best way to get confused
The Americans fucking rocked. It’s ultimately lib shit, but it offers a more sympathetic portrayal of the USSR than any other lib tv I’ve seen. It’s also just a good show.
It's such a sympathetic portrayal that I think if you showed it to any random American during the height of the cold war and said it was a tv show from the future that they would 100% believe that the Soviets won.
+1 for Dark. Top tier mystery suspense. Stranger things and stupid Lost had a baby and it turned out amazing.
Coming out of left field with this one. But if you're at all interested in cooking or baking I highly recommend The Great British Bake Off.
It's a reality TV show, but it's produced in the UK so it avoids all of the obnoxious over-editing and manufactured drama of US reality TV. A group of amateur bakers are taken to the countryside and bake three different things each week, and every week has a different theme (Chocolate, Bread, Patisserie, etc), one person gets sent home each week until the final three compete in a finale.
It's really wholesome and you get the sense that all the competitors aren't dicks and are actually supportive of one another. There's never any drama and you get to see some really cool/artistic things being baked/cooked. Definitely worth checking out if you're at all interested in cooking or baking or just want something wholesome to throw on.
