Some economists keep predicting (read: coping) by claiming something like a v-shaped recovery. In practice, any "recovery" is going to be to a lower level than it was before COVID. There has been massive increase in corporate debt, and growth was already at low levels prior to COVID. Much of the money from stimmy has gone to speculation and stock buybacks. The market has already been going through a massive crash for all intents and purposes. The economy was already fairly stagnant post recession. It will be even worse going forward.

Neither can you, you just keep repeating the same bullshit about this being sexual assault because ew icky butt stuff, then hand wave about bodily autonomy in a pandemic that to be managed requires mass testing and restrictions of movement until effective vaccines are widely deployed enough that risks of transmission and harm are significantly reduced.

Any pandemic outbreak that needs to be managed necessarily requires testing.

Mass testing by definition involves reduction in bodily autonomy should testing become mandatory. There is no increase in bodily autonomy being required to do a nasal swab than an anal swab. There is no bodily autonomy in requiring lockdowns that restrict your movement and what activities the public can engage in.

Nothing about this story indicates diplomats being forced at gunpoint, and the entire basis for it is a ridiculous standard about "dignity" for exempting diplomats, a privilege the ordinary population don't get because they think butt stuff is icky and probably makes you gay or some other ridiculous hang up. If the testing is thought to be accurate, then it makes sense to use it where appropriate.
