It is very effective. It's not necessarily supposed to change your mind about unions. It's about scaring people who might consider unionizing. It's a subtle way to tell workers "don't try any of that shit, or else. Also we're telling your coworkers to snitch on you, are you really gonna risk it?". They want to convince you you're in great danger of pushback and getting snitched. That's especially true for the training videos.

These ads are to provide talking points to people who already have brain worms to attack community support

I'm guessing they don't want to tap the shit-well that might be setting a precedent for having political advertising on Twitch.

I think it's been pretty conclusively shown that tech companies have no problem ignoring or bending their own content policies when it's convenient. they could just argue that union busting doesn't count as "political advertising." maybe they're responding to the online blowback against their Do It Without Dues campaign, as well as the general momentum and public support behind the unionization drive. They'll definitely still try to stymie it by other means, but I think they're losing the propaganda front and they know it. either that or there's some potential regulatory consequence that I'm not aware of, but idk much about what tools the NLRB actually employs against businesses.

it's pretty easy to find anti-union workers even in places that are unionized. Especially now that you can't "force" people to join unions.

Google says that it was for a joke along the lines of "Instead of sending Israel bombs, we should send Israel bombs." Nothing to do with the weird pedo shit, of course :agony-consuming:

It's probably pulled because Amazon wasn't paying twitch enough for the ads.
