  • Everyone's different but you're doing yourself a favour by playing it safe. Many people are going to be put off by you asking them out too soon, fewer people are going to put off by having a short conversation first. If they can't be bothered to have a short conversation with you then they probably weren't going to agree to go out with you in the first place either haha.

  • It's great to hear that you've matched with someone whose interests are so similar to yours, but I think you might be setting yourself up for failure if you're casting such a narrow net. You're highly unlikely to hit it off with any one match on a dating app. As other people on here have already said; it's a numbers game and it's hard enough as it is, so don't limit yourself to just vegans or communists. And if you match with a non-vegan or non-communist, for the love of god, don't talk about either of these (sorry)!

As to what to message her; refer to something in here photos or the text on her profile. If that doesn't work then whatever else but keep it simple and casual and let the conversation naturally go to more meaningful topics, don't force it. Finding the perfect message means less than you think, it mostly depends on whether she's into you and whether she's in the mood - things that are outside your immediate control.

  • Thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard of this before.

You follow some of these people for a while and appreciate what they have to say about socialism and anti-imperialism, then later find out that they advocate for some contemptible ideas. It's difficult to reconcile the two... ignorance is bliss.

It’s some kind of project by that guy Caleb Maupin and my guess is it’s just a method to get more public speaking jobs rather than a serious political project

Caleb has been publicly advocating for socialist and anti-imperialist causes for over a decade. Please look him up instead of so flippantly dismissing his work and insinuating that he's a sellout. Public speaking jobs? If he was looking to get paid he'd find it much more lucrative talking about something else.

Edit: Never mind, this guy is horrible.

  • No, this one is Firefox Focus. It's a mobile-only version of Firefox with a built-in ad-blocker and anti-tracking protection. Most noticeably it deletes all history, cookies, etc. every time the app is closed. So you're starting fresh every time you launch it.

Lots of great tips here but what I find the most important is feeling tranquil / mentally relaxed when I go to bed. Your body might be tired after a long day but if you're suffering from chronic stress/worries then those feelings will hinder you from finding the tranquility required for a good night's sleep, as your mind keeps wandering. Try resolving the issues that cause you these worries but at the same time try cultivating mindfulness through meditation and introspection. You mentioned you can't meditate but that's a beginner's problem that resolves itself with time. Look up the lectures of Jon Kabat-Zinn on YouTube or pick up a book of his. He does a great job of teaching mindfulness as a tool for resolving stress and worry and he's one of the pioneers in the scientific study and development of mindfulness practices. Good luck and lots of love to you, comrade.
