Phil has had some real big brained political takes since he started doing react content this past year. Some "highlights" include:

• If you have a female protagonist, you need a good reason for it.

• We should have police chases for the sake of going after shoplifters.

• The worst part of 9/11 is that airline food sucks now.

• DoorDashers exploiting non-citizens by making them deliver their orders for pennies on the dollar is bad because it's "giving illegal aliens jobs."

And those are just the ones I remember.

Honestly, with the type of 'back to basics' approach of the Shin movies, and how corny the original Gamera movies were, I'd be wary a Shin Gamera. Plus, if they went with the friend to all children approach, I feel like it would just be a retread of both Shin Gojira and Ultraman.

But maybe I'm just nitpicking, and I'd be down for a new live action Gamera movie with modern filmmaking techniques.

Do you like monster movies? Because Shinji Higuchi was the SFX director for the Heisei Gamera trilogy, so you might want to check them out if you haven't.

Are you planning on checking out Shin Kamen Rider when it comes out next year?

I was a little concerned when I saw that he'd fight four kaiju and aliens in the trailer, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by how well the movie flowed together.

My only complaint is that if they were going to use the Shin Gojira model for Gomess, they should have added Jirass too. I need to see that thing with a frill.

I like spending time with my friends/former coworkers. Normally it'd be through D&D, but now we're focusing on getting them out of retail.

(And there are some gore elements in the show. Not to the level of The Boys if you've seen that, but still a decent bit.)

It's a show about the racial tension between humans and kaijin (people who can turn into animal monsters) and how the various characters fight that injustice. There's a cult with close ties to the Prime Minister that's looking for the means to create more kaijin, which Kamen Rider Black Sun wants to stop.

It's basically a political drama with some superhero elements, like X-Men. I don't want to give too much away in case you want to check it out. It's on Amazon Prime
