Trying to transplant what worked before onto a different time and place is of course anti-marxist, but of the unrest that industrialized states have faced in the past, (France and Japan in '68, US last year) I think you can agree that more gains could have been achieved with a more organized, more militant movement at the helm, no?

Well, there's never been a socialist revolution in a developed nation period, so by that logic one should never join any sort of org at all. This is the only thing is the thread so far that I can't agree with. The point is to develop a program which can gain the support of the working class. If you see that as unattainable why even be a Marxist or anarchist?

Ahhh well on the one hand, I can see the suspicion if you're fed-aged, on the other I worry that many times "orgs" just end up being social clubs for progressive-minded college kids. Either way: that sucks.

The alternative could be to join events organized by the org, I'm sure even if you're not in it they wouldn't mind you participating, and if they aren't organizing anything well hell: that just means they're dweebs who won't put your membership to use anyway.
