  • Somewhat related, this made me just remember how for Genshin Impact there were leaks of a character getting a beach themed skin and there were two versions, one with armpits exposed, and one without.

R*ddit weebs proceeded to go on about how China is trying to censor armpits for being too sexual, claiming that the CPC was limiting Mihoyo's creative vision (instead of coming upon the more reasonable conclusion that they just were stuck deciding between 2 concept ideas) In the end they ended up choosing the version with exposed armpits so that shut them up.

In conclusion, these people need to touch some grass

I've seen a lot of subs that preach left-unity take anti-tankie stances (this usually just translates to anyone who is even slightly supportive of China or any socialist state) lately which I think is very telling as to which subreddits are either ops or modded by libs.

  • Some real westerner thinking right here. When you make a completely outlandish claim, the proof of burden is on YOU, not the people calling out this absurd claim. If you seriously believe that a government that spends less on police than the US, that has a significantly lower prison population than the US, that has a population of 1.4 BILLION, is somehow thought policing every citizen, then I don't know what to tell you (I seriously do not understand how it checks out in your mind that the CCP is somehow so competent and authoritarian that they can somehow spy and control that many people through force).

If you truly believe your outlandish claims, then feel free to visit some Chinese sites yourself and do your own research and share your findings

Also as a side note, imagine caring about what bougie billionaire Jack Ma has to say, as if he's somehow a voice for your average Chinese worker

  • Trying to tell people what exactly they can or can not wear is objectively bad, this should be pretty clear. If women's liberation is the goal (which most countries who have banned it have claimed), the more appropriate response would be work towards removing the social hierarchies that tend to place men above women (whether it be through improving access to healthcare for women, abolishing the systems which tend to make women reliant on men in capitalist systems, etc). If these things are achieved, then women who don't want to wear it won't feel forced to by their society, and those that do wish to wear it can do so freely. Banning the burqa is really just racist governments being racist, with a facade of caring about women to deflect backlash.
