See it the first time is cool. Until you see how small it is and why we did it and who’s land it’s on.

People exposed to the internet in general are brainwashed in my opinion. I just treat 90% of comments like they were made by a bot because lets be honest most of your posts are indistinguishable from bots. The trap is to think your online persona is something real when in reality it is all smoke and mirrors. Most people have been brainwashed by commercials or tv. They already want money so there are plenty of solutions. Don’t believe it until you see it, ask your parent or other family members what it is like being in the trap.

I live in China/N. Korea and criticize Xi

Dunno about N.Korea, but I live in China and that hasn't happened to me nor any of my friends. Lmao what do westerners think China is? Some people have done worse that criticize Xi (like celebrating the massacre of Chinese during the imperialist Japanese invasion, using horrible slurs, and advocating for more Chinese to get genocided) and their biggest punishment was getting kicked out of university.

I hardly even know how to find friends without a language barrier, 12,000 miles of ocean, and a nationwide firewall. Where the heck would you suggest I look?

So a lot of comments suggesting it's not true, if someone would do me the honor of showing me a Chinese publication with an op-ed echoing, for starters, Jack Ma's criticisms of the CCP that is easily searchable?

Some real westerner thinking right here. When you make a completely outlandish claim, the proof of burden is on YOU, not the people calling out this absurd claim. If you seriously believe that a government that spends less on police than the US, that has a significantly lower prison population than the US, that has a population of 1.4 BILLION, is somehow thought policing every citizen, then I don't know what to tell you (I seriously do not understand how it checks out in your mind that the CCP is somehow so competent and authoritarian that they can somehow spy and control that many people through force).

If you truly believe your outlandish claims, then feel free to visit some Chinese sites yourself and do your own research and share your findings

Also as a side note, imagine caring about what bougie billionaire Jack Ma has to say, as if he's somehow a voice for your average Chinese worker

This really strikes me as creating a strawman to get angry about. Even if the person is not being literal about people in the United States worshipping The Founding Fathers like literal gods (I assume they are not), I do not think most Americans have this view on them where they did nothing wrong and were infallible.

They do exist, do not get me wrong, but they are not as prevalent as some people say.

Typically they dodge that by saying they invented such an enlightened system of government that it caused their own mistakes to eventually be abolished, thereby crediting the founding fathers indirectly with every improvement that has ever occurred in this country's awful history, as well as implying that them owning slaves was some sort of honest mistake that they would have change their mind about eventually.
