and even a cursory reading of State and Rev will confirm that "breaking down the power system" is exactly what lenin calls for. it is explicitly states that the bourgeois state machine cannot be repurposed towards a socialist goal, and needs to be dismantled and a new worker's state built in its place. through this process the most successful revolution in history to date was accomplished, suppressed only by a 70 year siege by global capital and two attempts to directly militarily destroy the soviet project (the second of which aimed to literally annihilate the population and industrial economy of eastern europe wholesale).

this is almost pre-left. Like they are struggling to come to terms with concepts the international Left accepted a century ago

Sort of? Ultras are like... "This project isn't ideologically pure enough so it must stop. You should read more theory instead," and posties are like "This project will never succeed because capital has become too strong. You should go form a small commune instead, because that's the best you can hope for."

The mod in the pic is probably not an actual postie, because, even though they're Not My Favorite Tendency, they're still generally well-read and don't act like cops.

Literally both need to happen lol. You should both remove people who are capable of organizing reactionary counter revolutionaries by dint of being members of the previous order and promising to return to it and also completely break that system so another reactionary can’t pick up where they left off.

It means they believe that social structures have some material reality beyond the people who make them up. They are suffering from the same brain bug that makes sovereign citizens think that if they know the right spells then the force of law will bend the world to their whim.

As we post-leftists all know, "power systems" are nebulous abstract concepts completely disconnected from the entire social classes of people that drive and operate them

These people don't have a single clue about the history of May Day or actual anarchist resistance. They seem to have the exact same inclinations as socdems but with a different wrapper to make them feel more revolutionary but without actually coming into conflict with the status quo.

What’s great is this isn’t even an exaggeration. The mod comment is under a post about a court ordering doctors to stay at their hospital and not find other jobs. Literal, actual, forced labor.

Been banned from antiwork twice for tankieism, someone pat me on the head. Also the number of libs in that sub is outrageous. Every other post there is seemingly either about electing more progressives so we can tax the rich or pretending that everything was perfect in America until Reagan randomly appeared out of nowhere and destroyed the universe.

Ugh, that “Against the Logic of the Guillotine” article completely misses the historic lessons of the Paris Commune. Yeah, they burned all the guillotines, so the troops of the French and German bourgeoisie shot them. It was a failed revolution in no small part because they shied away from the terror.

lol, people pointing to the Commune always make me laugh. Oh yeah, sure, let's imitate the example of the people who argued about whether they should overthrow the government for three months, then got shot by the government they didn't overthrow.

Reminding “tankies” of the atrocities and betrayals state socialists perpetrated from 1917 on is like calling Trump racist and sexist. Publicizing the fact that Trump is a serial sexual assaulter only made him more popular with his misogynistic base; likewise, the blood-drenched history of authoritarian party socialism can only make it more appealing to those who are chiefly motivated by the desire to identify with something powerful.

this is a lie, IRL calls to violence is fed shit, but not online; feds use violence calls to arrest leftists, but they don't want the idea of violence as a tool to actually spread, so they oppose it online
