wow, stopping kids from participating in a manipulative industry where you pay 50$ for a streamer to say your name. What a dystopia.

But also there's literally nothing a parent can do to prevent a kid with a cell phone from racking up thousands of dollars in debt under your name.

I mean, I think the reasoning is bullshit because it just leaves kids with "bad" parents to the wolves (i.e. poor kids whose parents are too stressed about survival to always be present mentally and/or physically), but parents can definitely prevent their child having access to their cc info.

I think it's an awareness thing, since if you're not consciously avoiding saving CC info in Apple pay or Google wallet it's easy to save it in the phone for easy use later. So it's easy to buy a kid some vbucks on a phone, and then not realize your info is saved.

I don't like saving my credit card info anywhere because I'd rather not be able to impulse buy on my phone and possible leaks. It gets annoying and the option to turn off asking for it everytime is buried deep in settings.

Too many parents are enabling self-destructive behavior at such an important time in a person's development. The west is creating a generation of angry gambling addicts who only get off to violent porn.

this is a foolish issue to bring up for liberals as boomers are going to have to side with China on this one
