it is amazing how well the movie did. 90% audience score on rotten tomatoes, i feel like half of them probably didn't read the books. im still mad they skipped the banquet hall scene though.

I was surprised by how much my friends loved it without ever having read the book. But they were going on and on about all these elements of the movie and how much they loved it. It's a small sample size for sure, but they said they felt drawn in very quickly and it did a really good job of building the world without being too heavy on the exposition.

I read the book after seeing the movie and that part was one of my favorites. It sucks they didn't adapt it. It would've been nice to establish a wider range of characters and factions.

i didnt like how Dr Yuehs story was pretty ignored. i feel like that was important enough to mention.

they didnt explain anything about his backstory(omitted a scene with him and Jessica) and they never explain the history of Suk doctors(they are supposed to be conditioned to not be traitors). Here's an article that explains it better than i could: https://collider.com/dune-fails-dr-yueh/

This reminded me that they cut a lot from Jessica also. Her role as the prime suspect in the search for the traitor isn't really in the movie.
