    every single day that goes by, I thank myself for not getting into any of the bazinga channels like these. it really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when people comment something along the lines of "Oh, history/mathematics/geography/science was SO boring in school, but you make it so much more interesting!" because while sometimes I agree (3blue1brown is a treasure), more often than not it's presenting a biased highlight reel of these subjects without any of the rigor required for actual understanding. like, sure, there are issues with public education, but there's a reason why most scientific education curriculums aren't 3 months of learning epic facts about black holes and big stars, 3 months of learning about weird quantum particles, and 3 months of doing weird random experiments with bicycle wheels and ping pong balls

      The “I learned more from this video than from school” stuff seems to be an expression of pent up anger against mean teachers or whatever.

      Of course your elementary school math teacher didn’t teach pop science, Timmy.
