A couple defectors came into my Korean studies class in high school and we asked them how they did it and they were like "we went on a trip to China and then just didn't come back. Then a non profit sponsored our flight to the US and asylum."

Based on what I learned about Kurzgesagt, I wouldn't be surprised if every shitty clickbait channel like this got subsidies from some porky-scared

Youtube is an astroturfed shithole and like all capitalist propaganda, the fact that you get to "choose" which lies you listen to makes you think you're not being lied to.

I can't believe this guy was once best buds with JT from second thought, and also kickstarted his channel back when it was about science education.

Tierzoo will mention that channel at the end of videos and I can just smell the ideology of it.

Native German speakers must be perplexed when they read this word. I guess it'd read a bit like when someone says "ATM machine"...

It's actually just a big string of fairy lights. It makes NK really cosy and so no one wants to leave.

every single day that goes by, I thank myself for not getting into any of the bazinga channels like these. it really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when people comment something along the lines of "Oh, history/mathematics/geography/science was SO boring in school, but you make it so much more interesting!" because while sometimes I agree (3blue1brown is a treasure), more often than not it's presenting a biased highlight reel of these subjects without any of the rigor required for actual understanding. like, sure, there are issues with public education, but there's a reason why most scientific education curriculums aren't 3 months of learning epic facts about black holes and big stars, 3 months of learning about weird quantum particles, and 3 months of doing weird random experiments with bicycle wheels and ping pong balls

The “I learned more from this video than from school” stuff seems to be an expression of pent up anger against mean teachers or whatever.

Of course your elementary school math teacher didn’t teach pop science, Timmy.
