One of my friends was saying the Soviets were covering it up because they said it was a massacre of Soviet citizens and played down that it was a massacre of Jews. And that is where the minimizing the Holocaust narrative comes in. It's just so in the weeds I don't care. And Blinken obviously isn't the one trying to be nuanced.

The greater irony in this twisted logic is that the Holocaust happened to more groups than just Jews but here in amerikkka the version we're taught in schools tends to not talk about how the nazis wanted to exterminate slavs or LGBT people which in of itself is Holocaust denial by omission

or LGBT people which in of itself is Holocaust denial by omission

The US probably doesn't want to teach about LGBT people in the Holocaust because when the US liberated the camps they freed the Jews but they kept the homosexuals imprisoned within the camps.

In answer to your inquiry :

National and racial chauvinism is a vestige of the misanthropic customs characteristic of the period of cannibalism. Anti-semitism, as an extreme form of racial chauvinism, is the most dangerous vestige of cannibalism.

Anti-semitism is of advantage to the exploiters as a lightning conductor that deflects the blows aimed by the working people at capitalism. Anti-semitism is dangerous for the working people as being a false path that leads them off the right road and lands them in the jungle. Hence Communists, as consistent internationalists, cannot but be irreconcilable, sworn enemies of anti-semitism.

In the U.S.S.R. anti-semitism is punishable with the utmost severity of the law as a phenomenon deeply hostile to the Soviet system. Under U.S.S.R. law active anti-semites are liable to the death penalty.

Of course this does ignore the fact that there is nothing about being Jewish that makes you less of a soviet citizen
