Yeah I was thinking of Henry Wu in Jurassic World, I thought he specifically said feathers but he just says “If their genetic code was pure many of them would look quite different, but you didn’t ask for reality, you asked for more teeth!”

I've never seen any of the sequels so you may be right.
The first Jurassic World is… fine. The ones after that are awful.
