Every single Asian person I've known who was adopted by white people have had deep and fucked up self-hate issues so I personally think there is something deeply problematic with international adoptions on a systematic level.
I think this might be the main crux of the problem.
Transracial adoptions can be fucked specifically because of preexisting racial disparities. Imagine having kids at school call you the n word and “cotton picker” all day and when you tell your white parents, their advice is that bullies are looking for attention, so you should ignore them.
I had a similar situation (obviously with different racial slurs) and my first generation immigrant parents gave me the same advice. I love my parents and they were doing their best, but some people just aren't equipped to understand the racial dynamics of a Westoid school.
from my experience, most asians who grew up in america have those issues too thanks to the overwhelming presence of white supremacy in american society
