I know its shit and all, but I feel like being over the limit of cynism, soo what do we do about it? I like memes, too. But do they change anything substantially? Maybe Unpopular opinion, but i like the IDEA of europe.
I also like the freedom of movement in EU, but thats not the only thing it does, its also a neoliberal organization created in opposition to communism, if we ever want socialism in europe EU must be destroyed
Destroy EU and then? I like the idea of socialism also, but it does not solve the problem of hierarchy. States naturally develop a political class. So all we need is a new just elite party?
Socialism does not completely solve the problem of hierachies, but it is a force counteracting hierachies as socialism would empower the masses, current system empowers the rich minority and thus reinforces the hierachies
Maybe some of you are familiar with Slavoj Zizek, I totally agree with him that the crucial question is: What comes after the revolution? He describes this often with the example of the movie "V like Vendetta". The movie ends with people rushing the parliament and so on. But we never know what happens next, he then asks for "V like Vendetta II".

what is even a charitable take on the 'idea' of Europe or the EU though...I mean beyond the whole freedom of movement between member states..

I mean, neither does your post. It's all just entertainment and time wasting until we die, my friend
