People usually meet more Arabs and Muslims in everyday life compare to Ukrainians or Russian (I don’t think white people can tell white people apart, but they can certainly assume someone is Arab with 70% accuracy).

It’s harder to say something like “All the Palestinian orcs must be slaughtered like a lamb” when an Arab is staring at you vs. being comfortable to say “all Russian orcs must be slaughtered like a lamb” when there are no Russians or Ukrainians nearby.

Additionally, western media hype Ukraine up and say they’re winning and killing 5000 Russians a day. While Hamas boasts confidence in their propaganda, neither Hamas nor Palestinian officials are afraid of disclosing their death counts. People see this and it’s harder to hide from reality when even your enemy is admitting that their people are being massacred by you.

And I know Ukrainians also disclose when citizens die - sometimes - but Ukraine keeps saying it’s winning whereas Gaza is simply disclosing the numbers. Hamas says it’s winning, and maybe it is, but what they say vs. what government officials are saying + media coverage paints a bleak image no matter how far your support is for Palestine. But with Ukraine, everyone is saying they’re winning and the media follows along. Only recently has western media been more critical about their military strategies and governing.

And maybe the answer is much simpler. Maybe Americans see the irony of a country meant to be a safe haven from annihilation committing the same act on another group. The sad part is that they’ll just be in denial or actively cheer it on.

It’s harder to get away with comments like that because saying that about Palestinians is waaaay more obviously racist. Because whiteness is such a weird amorphous concept and because Russians are generally considered white (ignoring *cough cough* the ink on the pages of Generalplan Ost and those propaganda posters about Asiatic hordes hasn’t even been dry for 100 years), and because Russians are still sort of “the enemy” because the USSR only fell 30 years ago (you still hear Boomers and Gen X fuckers talking about Russians like they’re the “Other,” if I’m using that concept right; Russians are so X adjective or Y or Z), you mostly get a pass to say horrible things about them. I was wrong when I said drug addicts and the homeless are the last social groups in America who you can be a piece of shit to and still be a part of polite society.

Russians also use Funny Letters and eat Weird Food, but so do Palestinians. Ukrainians use Funny Letters but idk if they eat Weird Food. Israelis also use Funny Letters and eat Weird Food. I’m not sure what the point of this paragraph was supposed to be.

The red scare legacy definitely helped. But a whole lot of the current crop of libs somehow also constantly seem to confuse the USSR for the Russian Republic, hence all the blueanon memes about the GOP being communist, and the pictures of Putin with a hammer and sickle.

My guess is they’re so normie-brained that they don’t know that there still are communists out there, think they’re a joke, and/or have no idea what communism really is.

Reminds me of “history buff” guys who really love Soviet memorabilia and shit, but they’re libs.

Also most of the footage coming out of Ukraine-Russia is combat footage (also torture footage), with Palestine, given the majority of people dying are civilians, obviously the footage is dead civilians.
