I was gonna say, Finland going anti-Israel is gonna be the first time the "X-country is just antisemitic!" accusations are true

Maybe it's just the groups I follow but Finland has had pro-Palestine protests basically every week. They're pretty small, but I could see an artist or two coming from that crowd

I'm mostly just joking around, I don't know much about Finland other than "The Axis member who didn't get bad press for it," I live in the Great Satan and there are decent people even here.

The average Finn isn't likely to be anti-semitic. They make up for it by being incredibly racist towards Roma, black people and Muslims

Man, that's a lot of words for "Finland was a member of the Anti-Comintern Pact that was allied to Nazi Germany during the Holocaust, which they knew about because they saw Germany summarily execute people for being Jews."

This is a communist community, "Look they weren't really antisemitic, they just hated communists sooooo much that they had to ally with the Nazis" isn't going to play well.

driving them to need to to turn to the Nazis for support

Bullshit. Finland allied with the Nazis after the Winter War, and the Continuation War was started by Finland and Nazi Germany invading the USSR. There's no excuse to be made for Finland allying with the Nazis, even though many try.

Thought it was a Leftist Unity/Inclusivity instance. Has that changed? Seriously asking because the support of LGBTQ+ folks and anti-sectarianism policies have been major draws for my appreciation of Hexbear.

I didn't say it was a Marxist-Leninist community (though that's the bulk of the people here), I said it was a communist community. Most anarchists are communists. Anti-communists of any stripe tend to be (rightfully) ridiculed and bullied until they leave.

"They had to help the Nazis in the middle of the Holocaust, because they were just so anti-communists" is such a stupid, liberal defense of Finland's efforts in WW2.

driving them to need to to turn to the Nazis for support.

Anyone allied to Hitler in WW2 should be executed.

Defending it and calling it a necessity is gross.

The earlier suggestion that the Finns were opposing Israel due to anti-semitism doesn't seem to hold water with historical context. Unless there is evidence otherwise, such a claim is just more unnecessary misinformation that doesn't really help anyone.

It was a joke you Nazi apologist crybaby

Agreed. Nowhere and I intending to defend it but to understand and clarify it. You'd apply this to Stalin and supporters as well, right?

Stalin and millions of Red Army soldiers saved the world from fascism, saved tens of millions of lives, and prevented the attempted extermination of various minority groups, you little fucking weasel.

                      Cool your jets bud.

                      No PIGPOOPBALLS

Going off on people for providing context that you admit to not having

I know enough about the Continuation War to know who the Nazis in it were.

great way to make friends or allies.

Not trying to make friends with someone who would defend a Nazi allied belligerent in WW2, I'd actually find it gross to be positively viewed by such a person.

Agreed. Nowhere and I intending to defend it but to understand and clarify it

                      Hmm, so weird, because

Stalin should be called out for his unnecessary, expansionist invasion and driving them to need to to turn to the Nazis for support.

Sounds like you're saying it's the Soviet's fault that the Finn's had to join forces with Hitler.

You'd apply this to Stalin and supporters as well, right?

Just to be clear you're currently stating that the vast majority of the users on this instance should be executed.

I have to reiterate that you're a Nazi apologist, and state that a radlib like you doesn't belong here.

Also, no I don't think everyone who stopped Hitler should have been executed.

Where exactly are you seeing Nazi apologia?

Almost every word out of your mouth.

Nowhere have I said that what they did was the right choice

                      Liar

only that I can understand what precipitated it and that context of history made the suggestion of anti-semitism seem unlikely

Oh fuck off, they helped Hitler commit genocide by distracting the Soviet forces that were trying to put the Nazi beast down

Perhaps I'm a bit sensitive to wild claims of anti-semitism on account of the constant use by supporters of the Israeli government to silence dissent.

                      This feels disingenuous.

Do they even have any Jews in Finland to hate in the first place?
