i think the diegetic lore is that the dream needs to be as realistic as possible so the target doesn't realize they are dreaming so they can steal useable intel from them instead of just their jordan peterson grandma pube psychodrama. non-diegetically its a cool aesthetic they are going for, imo a tacky videogame reference would have ruined it. i get ur point about the dreams being weirdly grounded, but at least make it like a jungian archetype collective unconscious magical sword or spear or a normal looking handgun that inexplicably glows and makes 100 meter wide holes when it shoots or something like one punch man making holes in the world.
Trolling my dream-infiltrators by conditioning myself to envision all gun violence as being played out by Joe Piscopo with an .88 Mag (it shoots through schools), as depicted in the documentary film Johnny Dangerously
I was very disapointed by that scene. Your "dream bigger" in an Mk32? Bro. Bro. Use your imagination. Get the BFG or the Spartan Laser or something.
In some ways it was such an impoverished vision of dreaming.
it clearly says on there the word "tank"
