there are people in the notes going "yeah! this is so true!"

i think this is part of a broader trend of people feeling to need to justify everything they enjoy, it can't just be a show they remember fondly from when they were a kid, it needs to be punk

    I read the comment as being a critique of the recuperation of punk. This recuperation strips punk of substance and seeks to make it just aesthetic.

    By identifying Mr. Rogers with punk, they are making a failed attempt to fight back against this recuperation by utilizing a figure they identify as completely lacking the aesthetic of punk but they claim possesses the substance of punk.
