"Oh, you want to elect Boogieman, who will be even worse on culture-war stuff? Won't you think of the trans people*?"

*ignores all the trans people who won't vote for someone with the track record and continued support for extreme policies that have harmed marginalized groups, domestically and abroad, for decades.

It's not like Biden is doing anything to stop the tidal wave of anti-trans bills currently going through in the US anyway, lmao. I will not be made a wedge for libs.

I'm sorry comrade, I was already deeply irritated from other things and just read part of the comment and your instance's name (it tends to have a lot of 'lesser evi' debatebro types who migrated from reddit but never truly 'left' reddit)

That's my bad, deleted that comment

No worries. You could have just edited that one sentence. Nothing wrong with going on a rant on agreement :)

I barely pay attention to what instance people or communities are in tbh, so I have no clue what kind of reputation people in reddthat have. Well, except hexbear has a reputation for being trolls or something? Idk. Some instances block that instance and I wanted to be on an instance that doesn't block them.

I think hexbear has that rep because we are generally much more crass towards our targets of derision, and we don't force the issue of civility

We were/are also openly hostile towards some lemmy instances which had mods with Nazi adjacent views, as well as 'inclusive' spaces which were not inclusive; it's also exacerbated by much of lemmy being redditors who just wanted to 'feel special' for leaving reddit.
