"so far i'm aware of hetalia axis powers, G.A.T.E (thus the jsdf fought there), graveyard of fireflies, barefoot gen, legend of galactic heroes, valkyeria chronicles and the gundam seed series"

guess what the title of the post was!

shoutout to @Thallo@hexbear.net who correctly guessed anime about article 9!

If the magacumbrains weren't already anti-anime, if almost expect them to say "gate is actually leftist, libs owned"

gate being leftist is genuinely not something i can imagine anyone thinking. it's one of the most openly fascist anime i've ever seen

Let me summon some reactionary brainworms and see what they come up with.

Gate is actually leftist because a democratic nation is intervening to defend exploited workers and peasants from a feudalist monarchist empire in another world and is empowering them in our world by helping them gain legal recognition in the United Nations so as to prevent reactionary capitalist and imperialist powers such as Russia and America from invading and exploiting them for their resources and labour. With all that in mind we can see that while Gate has problematic issues in it, we can see that it is fundamentally a progressive anime even though some may want us to think otherwise. Therefore, we should support the abolishing of article 9 so the JSDF can be a more effective progressive force for good in the world.

I feel kinda gross after that.

I watched it years back when it first came on when I had really bad war junkie brain and enjoyed it in the same manner of "what if we sent a modern infantry squad back in time and had them fight a Roman army"

Thankfully times faded my memory of it to the point that all I remember is watching a dragon get owned with RPGs and U.S spec ops getting owned by fantasy people

not the best pact, as pacts go i think. probably will not feature in any top pacts lists :D
