iran can't keep doing this to me, they've gotta respond soon, right? I'm gonna run out of analysis about countries soon, oh god
The COTW (Child of the Week) label is designed to spur discussion and debate about a specific child every week in order to help the community gain greater understanding of the domestic situation of often-understudied children. If you've wanted to talk about the child or share your experiences, but have never found a relevant place to do so, now is your chance! However, don't worry - this is still a general news megathread where you can post about ongoing events from any child.
The Child of the Week is Hassan LargePenis! He is chad-and-cuck rater and general commenter @LargePenis@hexbear.net's son, born over a month ago. @Greenleaf@hexbear.net recommended I have him as the COTW for a week and I finally got around to it.

Israel-Palestine Conflict
Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:
UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.
English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon. - Telegram is @IbnRiad.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis. - Telegram is @EyesOnSouth.
English-language Twitter account in the same group as the previous two. - Telegram here.
English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.
More telegram channels here for those interested.
Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.
Russia-Ukraine Conflict
Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict
Sources:
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.
https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.
Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:
Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.
There it is, folks: stop holding your breath, the response will come when it comes.

can't find the original Iranian press release, but I got it from RNN on telegram, which as far as I know is totally credible.

Cool, assuming that timestamp is UTC, that was published after my original post and basically at the same time I originally gave you a source.

Perhaps. To me, it sounds like you're being critical that I didn't link to a presstv source that had not been published until after I posted the original statement and articles that corroborate it.

I hear you, I guess I'm also defensive because I feel like I provided more than enough of a clear attribution to a statement that is perfectly in line with previously reported statements from Iran and the axis of resistance.
Do you think that providing a link to the RNN telegram is appropriate (see: https://t.me/PalestineResist/53606)? It's definitely more credible than CNN and Bloomberg, but as you can see, it's not exactly user-friendly as it prompts you to view the link in a telegram app. I'm more than happy to provide links like that when I post breaking news from RNN in the future, I just personally think it's inconvenient to use.

Just for you I added the same exact report in Xinhua.

Links, people want links, so that it's not just "a poster on my communist forum said"
Except it's not "a poster on my communist forum". It is IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini. How much more of a direct source could you possibly want? If you don't trust that he actually said that, it's actually trivial to corroborate yourself with any number of outlets because I included at the top of the post the exact person and title who delivered this statement, a translation of which was also included in full.
IRGC spokesperson, Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini recently spoke to the press and said:
I’m glad Iran is recognizing your contributions.
Now I'm not saying you're a liar, but I'm having a real hard time independently verifying this statement
Without a link it literally is just a poster on my communist forum. I don't think you're making it up, but without linked attribution it could absolutely be made up. If you're already looking at the source copying and pasting the text why in the world wouldn't you just copy and paste the link too???
So you're saying that a quote with direct attribution is substantially less credible than that plus a link to the telegram channel that broke it? Lol, I disagree.
Without linked attribution you are an anonymous poster on a communist forum. We all are. That's why I always directly link anything I post to the news mega, and why the vast majority of others do as well.
Which is all well and good, and I try to where possible. I provided links that corroborated after the fact. When I initially posted, I'm not even sure that there were any english language sources that published the statement.
I feel like you're just complaining about being too lazy to do a simple google search to verify some well-cited information instead of clicking a convenient link.
Just leave the link, why are you being so petulant about this?
What the hell are you talking about? I've linked like 4 different sources at this point. Literally the second message I posted in this thread has 2 different news outlets reporting it. Here's the goddamn original link for your convenience, for the third time https://t.me/PalestineResist/53606
Yeah I guess expecting linked attribution in a news mega is lazy. I'll try to do better, thanks!
To demonstrate my point, here is the link to the original source of the information. It's definitely credible in my opinion, but perhaps you can see why I chose not to include it in my original post, since it's very inconvenient to view the source.
What's inconvenient? I clicked the link and it opened in Telegram, how can it get easier?
Great! Some people don't have telegram on their device. Which is why I promptly found and linked to a source to corroborate the information as soon as someone asked me to. And then posted even more links from different sources as more outlets reported on the statement. And then for some reason, you decided to skip past that and argue with me about providing the links that I already posted.
