put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

I am sort of willing to believe the “she lost because she’s a Black woman” lib analysis. She was a shitty candidate, as was Hillary, but it’s not like Biden was a good candidate. He was sundowning from the start, he picked a cop running mate and his policies were “nothing will fundamentally change.” Maybe what he had going for him was the pandemic, general anti-Trump anger was stronger, and reverberations from the George Floyd protests but idk just seems like he was just as shitty as Hillary and Kamala but was able to beat Trump. Someone tell me I’m wrong

Edit: also I’m not saying this is the sole reason, far from it, but I can’t help but feel they do have a point and it played a role

It was literally just this. Biden would have lost otherwise same as Clinton and Harris.

TBH I'm more willing to blame her loss on just having a dogshit campaign. I dunno what she was cooking when she was bragging about being stronger against immigration than Trump and not even being willing to support an arms embargo towards Israel, but it definitely wasn't anything good.

Probably part of it, but the main thing really seems like she just took the left (and by left I mean regular people tbh) for granted, just like Hillary. Look at all the stuff Biden promised to do. Biden got in on being a "harm reduction candidate". He wouldn't be able to do that again, because he obviously wasn't, but Kamala didn't have that issue. For some reason she decided not to run with that though.

Yeah I guess Biden would’ve lost (and was losing) to Trump this year. The only reason we got Kamala at all was because Biden was losing

It's like they thought (very, very wrongly) that Biden would have won if only he wasn't suffering from dementia. So that's what they molded KKKopmala into.

Kamala didn't lose because she's a black woman, but Biden definitely won because he's a white man.

Crazy that their whole strategy was appealing to moderate republicans and swing voters and maybe those people aren't too cool with voting for a black woman regardless of how much of a centrist she painted herself as galaxy-brain
