Being a practicing doctor should honestly be an immediate disqualification for providing HRT rofl. It's gotta be inversely correlated with good transitional healthcare results at this point.

Being our own role models & living as yourself during school means underground creation and distribution of HRT to youth btw, not dissociating all the dysphoria away and pretending everything is gonna be OK.

good post! doctors are by and large our enemies (and tbh, the enemies of all working and oppressed people). more folks must understand this! "not all doctors" rhetoric should be derided in the same way as if someone was defending cops or landlords. heartening that this is a space that doesn't put up with that shit.

How does a society without doctors treat its sick and injured?

I assume this is in good faith. obviously people with expertise are needed for that role. but the concept needs a revolutionary overhaul. the role doctors currently play which is not only completely useless but actively harmful is as the gatekeepers of livesaving medicine (like HRT) as well as other health interventions like specialist or psychiatric care. they don't need to be doing that. doctors in capitalism are also largely privileged people from well off backgrounds, are overwhelmingly cisgender, and often come to be members of a labour aristocracy or, in the cases of GPs, outright petty bourgeoisie. so not only is there a guy gatekeeping your meds (and taking your money for doing so) he is also your class enemy. I could talk a lot more about this, like how doctors are put on a pedestal the way priests were last century and supposed to know everything and guide society. no fuck that doctors are literally some guy and mostly they're idiot assholes too for reasons outlined above.

Yeah I can understand that, and the modern medical profession is definitely shaped by the capitalist profit motive with all the fuckery that entails. It was mostly the inclusion of landlords that had me confused, since landlords are a profession we can all agree does no useful work and serves no legitimate purpose.

some people do defend landlords as being somehow good or useful though, just not in this space. less people are on board with doctors being evil so i decided to throw the comparison in to illustrate how I have been made to feel about them as a trans person. and I think it's a fairly close one actually, both roles involve exploiting those worse off for their money by leveraging a monopoly on a basic necessity of life. at least in the case of GPs specifically

        Awesome, you're doing the right-wing anti-DIY/anti-transition meme

Nobody is making estrogen in their bathtubs and implying so is very harmful if you support DIY, even if just for adults.

It's not pivoting. It's called ignoring all the other points I disagree with because I don't think that would have been productive and instead focusing on the most objectionable item in your post.

Anyway, I see now you're engaging in cissexism, thinking trans youth shouldn't have access to correct puberty while cis youth are given the benefit of the doubt. Wonderful!

But for a minor who is still developing

That's why getting meds is so important, even if its diy. So their bodies aren't permanently changed despite their wishes. I'd give anything to undo what T did to me. Stop scaremongering about diy.
