Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. A New Hope was also good, and the main reason is the rest of the auteurs hated Lucas's original cut, and his wife (and editor) essentially made a decent movie out of the shots they had. Apparently one of the biggest flaws was that he opened the movie with just too much exposition (which became the opening scroll) including weird political details the audience didn't need to know, which just sounds like the phantom menace to me.
Even the fucking shootouts were better. It combined the expressionist angle fuckery with retrofuturist architecture to make a battle scene that is so beautiful it excites me. I'm not sure if I like star wars, or if I like that EV:ESB has an extended universe.

The Luke-Leia smoldering eye contact was gross.
Slave Leia is was sexist.
The musical number was gross.
The drawn out dialogue about going to the dark side was fucking boring.
That episode had the Lando redemption arc, some 2d anti-imperialism, and the "1000 years digestion" thing that gave me nightmares as a child. That's it.

You have to click it 100 times, but after that, you will be able to buy an auto-downvoter that produces 0.1 downvotes/second.
